Tech
The band has a full sound and
lighting rig suitable for small and large venues alike. It comprises
of the following. All has been PAT tested and conforms with
current regulations.
Sound
System
The system is flexible in which it can be used in half or full
mode. In half mode we output the mixed sound through a pair
of 18" Behringer bass bins and a pair of 15"
Behringer mids loaded with 6" horns, giving a total output
of about 2000watts, suitable for small to medium venues.When
a larger venue is played, an extra pair of the above speakers
doubles the output to about 4000watts. In most cases the front
of house sound engineer operates the system through a mixing
desk, and so is in complete control of the band sound.
Lighting
System
We have just upgraded our lighting set up to give a top class
lighting show to compliment the sound. It comprises of a 4m
long truss which is situated behind the band on stage. Apart
from the 8x par 56 cans and 16x pinspots on the bar, we have
4x inteligent scanner lights and a laser, bringing fantastic
lighting to the band and audience! Apart from the back bar we
have a further 2 side stands which hold another 4x par 56 cans
and 2x halogens per stand. A pair of "queen" lights
comprising of 8x pinspots each are situated either side of the
band. A further 2x par 56 cans and 2x halogens are situated
on the drum riser. Also a pair of "Constellas" and
a "dalek" lighting effects for the dance floor.The
lighting system is that precise that any one of the lights can
be individually turned off or on via the 48 channel desk, again
this is situated front of house, usually next to the sound desk
and is operated by a lighting engineer.The full system is at
its most effective when in a medium to large venue, but we can
scale down the lighting to suit the smaller venue.
Compliments
To see our lighting system at its best a small amount of haze
can be used to give the lights an even better effect! We have
a haze machine and a pair of
bubble machines which keep the audience and kids very happy!!
Setting
Up
In an ideal world, the band would like as much room as possible,
but the fact that many venues vary in size and shape means that
there is sometimes a lack of space to get all our equipment
set up.We downsize our PA and Lighting systems to suit the venue.Normally
we would either visit the venue before the gig, or that not
being possible, liase with the venue manager to arrange the
best site for the band.We would also find out about mains supply,and
health & Safety rules before the venue. If required we also
carry £5m Public Liability Insurance normally requested
by some venues.
